Vitiligo can affect various areas of the body, including joint areas. Joint areas are places where the skin is more prone to skin trauma such as friction, stretching, and movement. While Vitiligo can potentially appear anywhere on the body, including joint areas, these areas might be more susceptible due to these factors. Common joint areas that can be affected by Vitiligo include Vitiligo Hands, Neck, Ankles, Elbows, Knees, and Underarms.
In general, Vitiligo on joint areas is due to the patient being predisposed to Vitiligo. However, we can treat Vitiligo on joint areas successfully. It is important to try diagnose and spot and treat Vitiligo as soon as possible for quick positive treatment results.
Vitiligo on the Hands
Vitiligo on the Hands typically appears as small spots or patches of skin that have lost their pigmentation and have become white or lighter in colour compared to the surrounding skin.
The size and shape of these patches can vary from person to person, and they can be found on any part of the hands and fingers, including the palms, fingers, and nails. In some cases, the patches may be small and localised, while in others they may be more extensive and cover larger areas of the skin.
Vitiligo Hand Treatment is possible, and early treatment is recommended to prevent the further spread of Vitiligo and to start the repigmentation process again.
Vitiligo on the Neck
Vitiligo on the neck can appear as depigmented or hypopigmented white lines, spots, or patches of skin. The appearance of Vitiligo on the neck can vary widely from person to person.
Vitiligo patches on the neck can vary in shape and size. They might be round, oval, irregular, or even linear in shape. The size can range from small dots to larger areas that cover a significant portion of the neck. Due to the ‘sideways’ movement (twisting) of the neck, we often see white lines appearing initially due to skin movement trauma.
Sometimes, there might be a slight reddish or pinkish hue around the edges of the patches. Vitiligo patches can occur on one side of the neck or both sides symmetrically. They can also extend onto the jawline or upper chest.
Vitiligo on the Ankles
Vitiligo patches can appear anywhere on the ankles, including the front, sides, and back. They can extend upward onto the lower leg or downward onto the top of the foot.
Vitiligo patches can occur on one or both ankles. Symmetrical involvement means that patches might appear on both ankles in a similar pattern.
Constant rubbing or pressure from shoes and socks could potentially lead to skin irritation, inflammation, or microtrauma. While this mechanical irritation might not directly cause Vitiligo, it could potentially contribute to the development of new patches in susceptible or predisposed individuals.
The ‘Koebner Phenomenon’ is a skin response where new skin lesions form at the site of trauma or injury. This means that areas of the skin that experience repetitive friction, pressure, or trauma might be more susceptible to developing Vitiligo patches if an individual is predisposed to the condition.
In some patients, the Vitiligo may spread to the rest of the foot and toe areas. Again, early treatment is recommended. The sooner we stop the spread of Vitiligo, the quicker we can Treat the white Vitiligo spots and patches.
Vitiligo on the Elbows
Prolonged or intense sun exposure, especially on areas like the elbows, can potentially trigger the development of new Vitiligo patches or worsen existing ones in individuals who are predisposed to the condition.
A good sunblock is recommended to prevent the further spread of Vitiligo. Note that sunscreens can be used over our Vitilox Pigmentation Cream.
Vitiligo on the Knees
Vitiligo on the Knees is not unusual and normally is often the first area where we see Vitiligo appearing. This is especially true in children due to outside activities at school or the playgrounds. These activities often cause scratching or skin lacerations on the knee area and being predisposed to Vitiligo will cause the traumatised areas to depigment.
In the many Vitiligo assessments we carry out daily, we know that in most cases the white spot or patch remains localised to the knee area for the next ten to twenty years. Often the Vitiligo will start to spread after this period of time and spread to similar ‘joint and movement’ areas i.e. ankles, elbows, and hands.
Treating Joint Areas
Joint areas, such as Hands, Neck, Ankles, Elbows, and Knees require patience during treatment as they are under constant motion and movement trauma. However, successful treatment is possible and we do have a range of products to treat your specific condition.
We recommend using our Vitilox Pigmentation Cream and Vitamins to repigment these joint areas if your Vitiligo body coverage is below 15%.
For body coverages above 15% our Vitilox Cream and T-Cell-V Therapy is recommended.
Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream & Vitamins
Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream & Vitamins
Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream & Vitamins is an all-in-one solution to slow down and stop the spread of Vitiligo and to repigment and regain your natural skin colour.
Our Vitilox Pigmentation Cream penetrates deep into the skin’s cells. The Melanocytes are stimulated into releasing Melanin. Melanin is the pigment that gives your skin its characteristic colour. The amount of Melanin released is what determines your natural skin tone. Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream for Vitiligo contains stimulants that are absorbed into the skin causing these cells to re-activate.
Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream has been described as the most effective cream available for the recovery of your natural skin tone. As Vitilox Pigmentation Cream only contains natural ingredients there are no known side effects. It is 100% safe.
Application:
Vitilox® Vitiligo Pigmentation Cream is best applied to the affected areas of your body once or twice a day, after bathing.
Make sure the area is clean and dry before applying a small amount of the Pigmentation Cream to the areas affected by Vitiligo. Gently rub the cream onto the skin. The cream will not leave a greasy residue but will penetrate deep into the inner layer of your skin.
The Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream remains active for up to 24 hours after application.
Vitamin B12, Folic Acid & Vitamin D3
Vitilox® Vitamin B12, Folic Acid & Vitamin D3 have been formulated to stop and slow down the further spread of Vitiligo. When treating Vitiligo with the Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream, it is important that we stop the further spread of Vitiligo.
Vitilox Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, and Vitamin D3 are essential for healthy skin by supporting and promoting cell heath. They also help reduce the risk of infection.
Besides the physical health benefits, Vitilox Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, and D3 helps relieve Stress and Anxiety which is essential for the well-being of patients suffering from Vitiligo. The less you stress the less the Vitiligo spreads. Folic acid is also an important element in producing healthy DNA.
Vitamin D3 is associated with an increase in tyrosinase activity, and melanogenesis which contributes to repigmentation in Vitiligo macules. Due to the covid pandemic, we have had to formulate this new element into our B12 & Folic acid to help patients now deficient in this nutrient.
One Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, and Vitamin D3 capsule is taken daily, in the morning with or after breakfast. This unique supplement is slow absorbing and is beneficial for up to 24 hours.
Vitilox® T-Cell-V Therapy
Vitilox® T-Cell-V is an effective Immune System Therapy. It contains a special formula with vital ingredients that helps melanin (Pigmentation) production. Vitilox T-Cell-V repairs the skin cells activating new pigmentation to reverse the Vitiligo Condition.
Vitilox T-Cell-V Therapy is used in conjunction with Vitilox Pigmentation Cream, and required in conditions of High Body coverage or if a patient is predisposed to Vitiligo.
The T-Cell-V capsules are an immune therapy product and have the required ingredients to stop the progression of your Vitiligo. This is very useful when you are treating yourself with the Vitilox Pigmentation Cream or the Vitilox Lip Balm.
We also have seen pigmentation being induced in patients who have only just started to see a few spots of Vitiligo appearing. They can also be used as a maintenance product once your pigmentation has returned.
Vitilox T-Cell-V ingredients have been carefully selected to work together to regulate the immune responses in the alteration of the T-Cell’s in people suffering from Vitiligo. The T-helper cells heal and rejuvenate skin by the production of new cells. In patients with Vitiligo T-helper cells are arguably the most important cells in adaptive immunity as they also help activate cytotoxic T-cells to kill infected target cells.
Detection of various auto-antibodies including anti-thyroid and anti-melanocyte antibodies have been found in the serum of Vitiligo patients. These conditions are addressed in the Vitiligo T-Cell-V Therapy.
Ingredients in Vitilox T-Cell-V:
Zinc & Metallic Elements:These play a vital role in the melanogenesis process. The process of melanogenesis is responsible for normal and malignant melanocytes producing melanin. Melanin is the pigment found in the skin, eyes, hair, nasal cavity and inner ear. Vitilox T-Cell-V is essential to activate new pigmentation to counteract Vitiligo. In addition, Vitiligo is an inflammatory disease and these elements have excellent anti-inflammatory effects.
Vitamin B12 and B6 have three main functions – To reduce stress and anxiety – To assist in the prevention of infections – To support and promote cell health.
Vitamin D3 1000iu is associated with an increase in tyrosinase activity, and melanogenesis which contributes to repigmentation in Vitiligo macules.
Folic Acid also has three main functions in that it is required to properly produce red and white blood cells, utilize carbohydrates as energy and thirdly produce healthy DNA.
Vitamin B1 helps prevent complications in the nervous system, brain, muscles, heart, stomach, and intestines. It is also involved in the flow of electrolytes into and out of muscle and nerve cells. Recommended to help with malabsorption issues.
Vitamin B2 helps break down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. It plays a vital role in maintaining the body’s energy supply. A deficiency (also known as ariboflavinosis) includes skin disorders, hyperemia (excess blood), and swelling of the mouth and throat.
Biotin is an important element for the functioning of healthy skin cells.
Zinc picolinate is a highly absorbable form of zinc, and these capsules boast 100 milligrams of zinc picolinate. Zinc is known as a potential antiapoptotic agent. Apoptosis of melanocytes is involved in the pathogenesis of Vitiligo. Thus, Zinc is a promising agent in the treatment of Vitiligo by preventing apoptosis of melanocytes. Zinc and other micronutrients have a key role in the process of melanogenesis.
Selenium has a vital role in the health of the immune system. Selenium is an antioxidant that lowers oxidative stress in the body, which in turn reduces inflammation thereby improving the body’s natural immunity.
One Vitilox T-Cell-V Therapy capsule is taken daily in the morning with or after breakfast.
