When treating Vitiligo, it’s important to first determine whether the patient has low or high body coverage. if you have Vitiligo High Body Coverage and are unsure of what treatment to use, our consultants are always on hand to help you. We also have our free Vitiligo Assessment form available for your Vitiligo evaluation.

Vitiligo Explained

The colour of our skin depends on our melanin production. In other words, the more melanin your body produces the darker your skin tone. White patches appear when the melanocytes in the skin die or are damaged causing Vitiligo. Damaged melanocytes cause the melanin to stop producing colour in the skin. High body coverage of Vitiligo is as a direct result of the number of damaged or destroyed melanocytes.

Vitiligo is not contagious nor does it lead to cancer.

We develop white spots or patches on our skin as a result of damaged melanocytes. Pigmentation in the nasal cavity, gums as well as hair is also the result of a lack of melanin production.

What is Classed as Vitiligo High Body Coverage

High Vitiligo body coverage is considered as 25% or more of the body covered by Vitiligo.

How to Determine High Body Coverage

Patients who have had Vitiligo for many years, or if it is spreading very quickly, (more than a 25% body coverage) need to use a product that is capable of slowing down and stopping the spread of Vitiligo. Once your Vitiligo spread has stabilised or stopped, we can then concentrate on the repigmentation of your natural skin tone.

Vitiligo patients lack certain vitamins and metallic elements. Vitilox Vitiligo T-Cell-V contains essential ingredients found by researchers to be lacking in Vitiligo sufferers.

The metallic elements in the T-Cell-V stimulate the process of melanogenesis. Melanogenesis results in the production of melanin and consequently the return of your natural skin tone. These elements also address the inflammatory effects of the condition. They are essential for patients with high body coverage.

T-Cell- V tablets contain Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid, as well as B1, B3, and B6. The B Vitamins are excellent for the control stress levels and promoting cell growth. The Biotin found in T-Cell-V is important for maintaining healthy skin. For your body’s overall health, we have also added Selenium essential for a healthy immune system.

Treatment for High Body Coverage

Treatment requires the Vitilox T-Cell-V tablets, taken with breakfast, together with a daily application of Vitilox Pigmentation Cream. Apply the cream to the affected areas once a day to restart the Pigmentation process.

Apply the Pigmentation Cream to your face and hands in the mornings and evenings. Hands and faces are washed more frequently than the rest of the body. Hence the need for two applications.

If your pigmentation is slow to respond to treatment you may consider the use of the UVB Lamp. The UVB lamp will speed up the pigmentation process. The UVB Lamp is excellent for total pigmentation in areas that are stubborn, i.e. Joint areas – Hands, Feet, Knees, Elbows, etc.
